This was by far the best experience I have ever had in Costa Rica. I traveled to 15 different locations over 6 months and this host family was the most generous and helpful family I have ever known. They brought me food all the time (fruit, meat, vegetables and snacks) and even gas at one point for my car. They even took me in their Jeep to see a sunset. The facility itself is clean and impeccably maintained. The house has everything you need to cook with. You hear howler monkeys in the trees across the street and chickens next door. The outdoor living area is perfect for larger groups or families. There is a convenience store a short walk away where you can find some basic staples including some meat and vegetables but it is really small (one room) so I would suggest if you come for more than a couple days that you bring groceries with you because the bigger grocery stores are about 20 minutes away. The best part is you are in the country surrounded by farmland. The yard is completely fenced in for dogs. I felt safe with a relative living next door. Highly recommend!

The host greeted us as we arrived on the driveway. He was friendly and came back at the agreed upon time to show us how to turn off the outdoor jacuzzi, which wasn't hot, but given the warm temperature, it was a refreshing way to cool off before going to bed. The host delivered homemade breakfast to us at 7 am the next morning. Plus, he was very courteous when we thought we had lost the cabin key. BONUS: We listened to howler monkeys nearby as we ate our breakfast and had a pleasant hike on the hill above the cabins after breakfast.

The resort was very relaxing and sustainable. All of the amenities were very nice and the rooms are modern. The staff were friendly and helpful. The view was beautiful. The common area was very nice as well.

Restaurant, pool, the view of the lake, the gym, and the little hot spa room... trails going all around it really was a standout place, much more like a peaceful resort, but a brewery is attached!! Get a tour of the place... very eco-friendly yet has every amenity, plus did I mention beer?!
