Allthough it was a wonderful historical building with great connections to sailing the hotel has great modern facilities. Clean, great shower and friendly professional staff. I will certainly stay again next time in this part of Germany

Wonderful hotel with a cozy atmosphere that surpassed my wife and my expectations and excellent location for foot passengers. Breakfast was truly amazing with a great selection and the price is well worth it - but would suggest to go early before rush hour so you fully enjoy the experience and charm. Like the echo concept and drive to remove fridges and kettle from room and easy to grab a coffee from the bar anyway ;) Lovely room that was super cozy and quirky and had all that we needed. Staff were almost excellent and chambermaids excellent. I will always book this hotel when I return to Kiel.

If you have the chance to upgrade to a suite, do so, the view over the Kieler fjord is amazing with its large ferries sailing daily to Sweden and Norway and the smaller ferries to places like Laboe with its fish restaurants. The suite is beautifully furnished. Personnel are very friendly. Breakfast room and restaurant all excellent. As seniors we found the special parking spaces for seniors especially welcoming!

    Great location for being able to access Kiel without staying in the city. Tidy, quite and only a 5 minute walk to an amazing supermarket, Familia. The deli counter has so many choices. We took the bus into Kiel during our stay. There's an app that makes booking your transport. Staff helped us understand how to use the app. The hotel was also reasonably close to the EuroVelo 10. They also had a secure place to store our cycles.

    Reception was closed when we arrived. We got a message ahead of arrival and it was easy to get in and get the key. Breakfast was in a canteen 50 m from the hotel but you need to go outside. Breakfast was ok but not exceptional.
