Balingen is a cute little town - more so when the weather is...
Balingen is a cute little town - more so when the weather is nice. When the weather sucks, Balingen gets boring real fast. The people of Balingen are wonderful. Shopkeepers are helpful and tolerant of non-German speaking tourists. My first trip to Balingen was in 1970, when almost no one spoke English. But now, so many people at least try to speak English to help the tourist. And many of the younger generation are quite fluent in English. I've had many extended stays in Balingen and I just love all the footpaths around Balingen and the neighboring towns. I love all the bakeries and cafés in Balingen, not to mention the ice cream shops. And quite a nice selection of restaurants for a small town.Guest review byRonHCanada
