I booked this place as a best value option I found for a visit to Munich as the prices/availability in Munich were off the charts, I guess due to Octoberfest. It worked out fine. It seems like a very good place to stay if you are transiting with a car as it is next to a highway. Also works well if you are in Dachau. But it also worked fine for us when we needed to go to Munich. The hotel is connected to Dachau banhof with a bus and there is a bus every 20-30mins. If you are in a hurry, it's a ~15-20min walk to get there. From there the S2 takes you to Munich central station in ~20mins. I found the travel time to be similar to my previous stay in a hotel next to Olympia park. Didn't use much of the facilities of the hotel, the terrace and bar looked nice. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable.

    Dachau we came to visit the historic concentration Camp. The city was really good to walk in. And not too busy at this time of year. We ate in the hotel restaurant excellent service and a varied menu.

    We were in Munich for Oktoberfest.

    We were in Munich for Oktoberfest. This was a nice facility but was about 45 minutes via bus and train to Munich. It took us a little bit to figure out the bus and train schedules, but once we did it was easy to get to and from Munich.

    A beautiful small town.

    A beautiful small town. Easy walking distance to the castle & it's gardens (beautiful & worth visiting) as well as the site of the concentration camp (sobering but definitely worth the visit) Also very scenic country walks. Just be aware many places are closed on a Monday!

    Dachau is too small to stay in for the night or nights ...

    Dachau is too small to stay in for the night or nights ... Tour of the prisoner camp was usefull ... Tour guides are distorting the facts making Germany alot worse .. it was a prisoner camp .... during wars ... facts no more or less. Touring children or students is not a good idea ... it is a horrible idea to be introduced to violance at that age ... ... The castle was a great spot ... the old town ... need better infrastructure ... Food was merely to meet the hunger ... busses are available ... routes are confusing in such a small place . One time visit is more than enough.

    Dachau is the place where the very first Nazi Concentration...

    Dachau is the place where the very first Nazi Concentration Camp has been built. It was an example camp for all other concentration camps within Nazi-Germany. I think every person should once visit Dachau or a different concentration camp city to understand in what luxury we live today and how cruel humans can be during times of war. And of course also to pay respect to all the victims from the Nazi era. What I also liked was the public transportation within Dachau. It is simple to get around. Especially the proximity to Munich is great.

    Happy to have booked this place for a weekend trip to Munich with family. Easy access to Munich city center by parking ur car at by Park and Ride Dechau Bahnhof and then taking S-bahn directly to city center, for example to Marienplatz in 27 minutes. Breakfast is really good. Friendly staff and good environment for kids as well. Enough free parking right in front of the hotel.

    Modern, spacious rooms at an exceptional price. The staff are always very friendly and help in any way they can. We decided spontaneously to extend our stay and they arranged everything so that we didn‘t even have to swap rooms. We always stay at MODI when we come to Munich and can highly recommend it!
