It's an excellent hiking place, recommended for families with children, dogs - especially during the weekdays when you can enjoy the quiet beauty of nature. Loved the quaint little town with access to such beautiful nature. The Bastei route gets really busy so the earlier you go, the better. The Bastei bridge is not the only beautiful route in the area though and its definitely worth it to explore the other routes more. Personally I loved the approach via the Swedish holes more. Also walk along the river past the route that goes up to Lillienstein, beautiful views with a scenic walk. Restaurants in the area can be pricey but the Imbiss is a good option. We did self catering and was able to buy a few basic supplies for soup from the town shop and a few goodies for breakfast. We stayed for 4 nights but would definitely recommend more to explore the area and in summer partake in more activities.Guest review byLuci ViljoenGermany

The photos online look much better than the hotel in reality. The hotel is clean, and the retro-style interior is quite charming. The absolute highlight was the pianist playing on Friday evening – we really enjoyed his performance! The “aqua center” is simply one pool in the basement plus a Finnish sauna and a steam room – and that’s it.
