Mittenwald has a lot to offer for all ages and interests. The historical city centre has a number of sights and a good choice of restaurants - for many the real beauty begins once you leave the city. From taking cable cars, walking along the river or through the forest to climbing peaks up to around 2,500 m, the natural surroundings are stunning. The city does a good job at offering public buses that take tourists to the most important sights and trailheads, giving us the chance to leave the car at home and help preserve the gem that Mittenwald is!Guest review bySebastianGermany - 10.0

We loved wandering through the town, looking at all the painted façades of the old buildings. There is a variety of walks from Mittenwald. We did the walk to the Leutascher Geisterklamm, beginning at the Koboldpfad & completing a figure 8, crossing the Panoramabrücke twice. We also took the Kranzberg chairlift to the top, then walked to the Lautersee, down the Laintal, following the waterfall & back to Mittenwald.Guest review byT - 8.0

The view of the beautiful Alpine Triangle is stunning. We were very lucky that on the first day we arrived, the weather was clear and sunny, with a strong sun that made for great photos. When it was time to leave, the weather turned gloomy and it started to snow heavily, with big, fluffy snowflakes. We arrived by tain, and the hotel was very nice to take our luggage early so we could enjoy a walk, since we arrived way before check in. They also were willing to keep our bags on the day of check out until before we had to make ou train again. The facilities were clean, the spa amazing and peaceful. There's a reasonably good supermarket only yards away which is open daily except Sunday. There's a slightly longer walk to the railway station and the town. The facilities were excellent.
