    Winningen is small but absolutely worth the visit if you're...

    Winningen is small but absolutely worth the visit if you're near Koblenz, especially by the end of August during the wine festival. It's a beautiful small city with some good restaurants surrounded by vineyards. I've been there twice (as a stop on 2 long distance hikes: the RheinBurgenWeg and MöselHohenWeg) and I enjoyed it both times. I stayed on the camp site one time (which is not ideal for tents because quite big and noisy with a lot of camper vans) and at the Route66 studio the second time (very charming and highly recommended).

    We are a family with two children and we can recommen this place. It's a large cosy house and we first rented the room in the top level and then the two rooms in the middle. There were good beds, nice clean bathrooms, a good kitchen and a small garden where you can sit outside. There are some restaurants in Winningen that we liked and of course good wine. We had a car and it was close to do trips to Koblenz, burg Eltz, Cochem etc.

    Fantastic location next to the river and near to the town centre. Winningen was extremely picturesque town and offered a number of bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were friendly and the waitress at lunchtime was very helpful. A great place to stay that is near to the motorway network and in the heart of the wine country. We would consider a longer stay in the future.

    We did not stay at the hotel because of my severe asthma. They did not agree on deleting the booking,though. They took paid anyway, shame on them! Bad business! The same goes to Booking.com. Not they either could help us out- both claiming each others! Do not book here! We do not rely on this booking site anymore!

    Very large room and bathroom on the ground floor with a little outside patio. Plentiful on site parking in front of the hotel. Hotel located on the banks of the Mosel River and easy walk into the town.

    Simple but a clean hotel. Staff were very friendly. Lovely breakfast. In walking distance there was the town center with nice restaurants. Compact parking places in front of the hotel.
