We had a fantastic stay at Gabalawy's guesthouse! The hospitality was outstanding, and Gabalawy went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable experience. The location was convenient, and Gabalawy's local recommendations added a special touch to our trip. I highly recommend this guesthouse for anyone looking for a welcoming and charming accommodation.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good location, nice room. Perfect quality-price balance. We asked guys to organize a tour to the Valley of Kings for us, and it was an individual, absolutely reasonably priced tour with a guide Hani (ask for this guide, if you're going to visit Luxor, he's really good!). And, Mo, thanks a lot!

Nour el Balad is an absolute gem tucked away from all the crowds. The guesthouse is a traditionally built home with lovely little details and decorations everywhere, and palm furniture including the beds. The breakfast included is delicious, but make sure to stay for lunch or dinner — the roast duck and molokhiya are absolutely outstanding! Luxor’s restaurant scene isn’t amazing and we ended up eating dinner at Nour al Balad every night of our week-long stay. Abdullah and his team offer warm hospitality and can also help with transfers and taxis as needed. We have stayed there twice now and can’t wait to return!!

One of the best value for money hotels I've ever stayed in. Egypt isn't a careless destination in terms of accessibility, cleanliness and comfort, but in the New Memnon hotel we were in the most friendly atmosphere, experiencing all the best features of the country and protected from it's less pleasant characteristics. Virtually everything was enjoyable - the rooms, the views, the food, the garden, the location, the stuff. Special thanks the hotel owner, Mr. Said, who made our stay there just magical.

Great historical places like Valley of the Kings, Queens and Hatshepsut temple. Hot air balloon is a must-try with good price compare with other countries. The pilot is very experience and the hot air balloon is very stable. However, day time weather is comparatively hotter then Cairo and Aswan. Recommend to bring a portable fan around.

I thought Luxor temple was much better than the pyramids.

I thought Luxor temple was much better than the pyramids. The taxi driver at the airport Mohamed, was very friendly and came back to collect us on time. There was a man with a horse carriage that was relentless and a liar for about 10 minutes, non-stop from the hotel to the entrance of the temple. We were the only ones walking the full avenue from Luxor temple to Karnak but it was worth it because it was peaceful and the guards were friendly. We would have liked to stroll at night time on the promenade but as soon as you were stepping outside the hotel, you were targeted by scammers. The hotel had good facilities, good food and a good swimming pool but it would have been good to enjoy a bit more freedom like in any other tourist destination.

Luxor sites are great must see for travelers who loves ancient Egyptian sites. Many beautiful experiences. But unless you've got the a full time tour/handler, be prepared for the endless stream of people looking to siphon some of your pocket and time. We're 'do it yourself' kind of travelers and did so without serious issue; It takes street smarts and awareness. People generally are kind and warm and Luxor has a lot to offer. A driver/guide is essential for the West Bank sites though, many things to navigate and difficult without someone versed in the area and processes.

I really enjoyed seeing various monuments and then relaxing at my hotel. Most of the monuments are very close to where you'd be staying - which is really pleasant. There are several very reasonable tour operators and always lots of availability, during the off season. I recommend going between June - December, as there's more availability and it's not crowded.

If I have to go back to Luxor ever again - I would pick a Hotel with a view and good food, and outside of the city centre (avoid Luxor Temple/Souk areas). Honestly, if I had to do it again, I would just leave the hotel with a private driver and guide (and air conditioner) to visit all the temples and tombs, and the Hassan Fathy (architect) house, mosque and neighbourhood. Buy nothing and do nothing in the city centre. I loved all the Temples and Tombs visited, definitely worth while and amazing architecture (Karnak will be forever in my memory), but had a terrible experience with the city itself due to the excessive aggression to tourists in the centre. The Western side of Luxor seemed a bit calmer and more genuine. The city is experienced with a constant aggression by people trying to sell you things. It is overwhelming. To the point that it made me averse to it. The souk was full of fake/low quality items and the same applies to the alabaster factories & perfume shops the guides try to take you due to their commissions' revenue. There are just too many scams and everything was outrageously overpriced. I bought all I wanted and needed in Cairo.

Everything about the places gives awesome! The staff was exceptionally attentive. Organized a great driver for us to visit all the sights for a very good price and the location was just 2 minutes walking to luxor temple. The hotel partners with a tour company so you literally do not need to book tours before hand you just to show up. The restaurant on the rooftop was fantastic. The service was phenomenal and the food was out of this world. The best food I had in Egypt was at that restaurant!

Overall an amazing stay in Luxor and Malkata House. The team and people really made a difference. From the help, food and guides they offered. Compared to previous experience in Egypt we really felt we could trust the guidance and help from the Malkata team. Malkata offered not only great guidance, but also fair prices on trips with boats or guide. Same can mot be said about Hotels we stayed at in Cairo. Would love to be back!

The people from the hotel are excellent and very kind! They helped us a lot in organizing the activities we wanted to do without asking for anything in return, which is rare in Egypt! The room was very big, clean, in a quiet location with a view! The breakfast was quite good and overall we had a very pleasant stay! If we visit Luxor again, we will definitely stay there again! I highly recommend! Keep up the good work!

The hotel is located in the West Bank and close to Memnon Statues. We went to East Bank to visit temples by Tutu cars and ferry boat easily. The room is clean and equipped with good facilities. The boss is very helpful on various topics. The food is the best ever since we arrived in Egypt with fair price. Although the hot balloons are cancelled during our stay in Luxor, I do recommend this hotel to other visitors.

Everything was good, it’s a cozy hotel, very Egyptian style which i loved. The rooftop terrace was the best part, amazing views of the Nile and the Luxor Temple. Breakfast was also very good, with plenty of options and most of them vegetarian. Also we had dinner there and i food was very tasty.
