If you are a fan of Gaudi's architecture , a lover of history, or a Camino Pilgrim, then this town is a must for a couple of days visit. The old city is easy to navigate on foot. The chocolate museum is also worthwhile if your time allows. If we were traveling by car then I think we should have liked to stay an additional night and explore some of the surrounding area. As it was we were slowly making our way by bus from Santiago de Compostella to fly out of Madrid after having walked the Portuguese Camino.Guest review byTraceyAustralia - 8.0

Astorga is a lovely town with plenty to see for a weekend...
Astorga is a lovely town with plenty to see for a weekend stay. Main attraction is the Antonio Gaudi-designed Bishop's Palace (now a museum), a sort of Sleeping Beauty castle designed as a residence for the bishop of the cathedral next door. Secondly, the architecture and buildings all around town -- you can walk for hours and it's even large enough to get lost in, so bring your phone. The cathedral is sadly not very worthwhile -- drab, disorganized, you can go in but you won't stay long. Tip: Almost all shops are closed Sunday, except for the moust touristic, so do your shopping on Saturday.Guest review byMarkUnited States

It was ideally situated in the centre, and pretty quiet too, also close to shops/restaurants etc. It was only a short walk to the Palacio Gaudí which was one of the reasons for our trip. It was a simple process to check in via the Eurostars a short walk down the road and the free parking at the hotel was a bonus.
