Lovely traditional town with some lovely restaurants and bars. It was a little lively some evenings as we were there Christmas week but the noise died down after midnight,. Ayamonte is an absolutely charming little Spanish town and most certainly worth a few days visit or a day trip from Portugal. It's extremely clean, charming, lots of restaurant options. My wife and I lived near Ayamonte for 17 memorable years. It is a typical Andalucian town by the river/sea. It is not sophisticated but a working town/fishing port. If you want a true taste of Andalucia, this is the perfect place to visit.
