FAQs about hotels in Jerez de la Frontera

The Tradition of Sherry, Horses and Flamenco

A town synonymous with sherry, dancing horses and motorsports, Jerez de la Frontera also features the typical Andalusian traits of gorgeous sunshine, elaborately painted tiles and rhythmic flamenco.

The latter was reportedly born here and the town is home to the Andalusian Centre of Flamenco. Nearby is the ‘bodega’ of Harveys, one sherry brand offering wine cellar tours. Others include Pedro Domecq – the oldest – and Tio Pepe, whose fame stretches worldwide.

Horse statues are found all over town and a park houses the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, a dressage riding school offering public performances. The annual Jerez Horse Fair is an even more spectacular event that takes over the whole town. The town also teems with bike enthusiasts during the Spanish Moto GP, on a circuit which also hosts pre-season F1 testing.

Other sights include Jerez Alcázar, an 11th-century Moorish castle, and the multi-faceted cathedral which is beautifully lit at night. Plaza del Mercado has the archaeology museum and part of the city walls surround the historic centre. The Hammam Andalusí offers a wonderful Arab baths experience, and the Cartuja monastery provides more soul food.

Booking.com’s Jerez de la Frontera accommodation includes 5-star hotels with pools, and cheap apartments and guest houses near the train station, with direct links to Jerez Airport.

Bodega Fundador: interesting tour, great sherry, monumental bodega La Mesquita. Day trips to Arcos de la Frontera, Olvera, Setenil de las Bodegas, Media Sidonia and Vejer de la Frontera. Beautiful equestrian show in the Real academia del arte ecuestre. No time for the many museums in Jerez proper, we will have to return one day.

We enjoyed all the historical landmarks very much however we found by taking a horse drawn taxi around the city helped us to see how much more there was to explore. The driver gave us an excellent narrative of the important points and explained historical features. The bodegas were very interesting to visit. We particularly enjoyed the Royal horse show and the grounds it was set. Overall we enjoyed Jerez very much and we will return there again

The information provided by Juan and Amelia before the trip...

The information provided by Juan and Amelia before the trip was incredibly helpful, especially as we had never been there before. Suggestions for bars and restaurants was very helpful. The apartments were terrific. Clever decor and design, a range of eclectic art work (Including Juan's home made central ceiling light) which blended the history of the building with all the modern aspects of daily living. A really comfy bed which gave a great night's sleep. Also a welcoming bottle of cava and a homemade cake (I had five slices in one sitting) which was excellent. Very lovely genuine owners who care for their guests experience. Will definitely be going back.

    Pleasant and helpful Policia Local.

Pleasant and helpful Policia Local. Good venue for concerts, not too big. Useful shopping centre with large Ikea. Not pretty as haphazard construction as spoiled the town. Not pretty. Road access into town and around it is a chaotic network mess of roads.

Plenty of Andalucian culture to explore, from Flamenco, Sherry, the Cathedral, historic old town with winding alleyways, dancing horses, fantastic central market with fruit, veg and seafood. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy and its relatively easy to navigate on foot.

Easy to drive to with parking under the Hotel. Easy walk from the Hotel right into the heart of Jerez and all the bars, shops and restaurants. Large bedroom, good shower, balcony doors overlooking the street below. All clean and well managed. In 20 mins we walked to the Royal Andalucian Horse School, a fantastic location and worth a visit.

We’re from Jerez de la Frontera, and we stayed in this hotel while visiting the family for Xtmas. The location is SuperB. The rooms incredibly big (specially for Spain), and bathrooms too. The staff was incredibly friendly, and was always accommodating any of our requests. We’re definitely coming back next year.

This was the best place we stayed in whikst in a 3 week tour of southern Spain-the host Ana was amazingly helpful and suggested many local places to visit-we could have lived forever in the apartment just outside city walls-so well equipped and modern
