If you use the metro it is easy and clean. The Mercado St Miguel is not a market - it’s an eating place; busy but well worth a visit. Lots on offer and delicious. The 360 bar at the Riu - go there! I really enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere of Madrid, the beautiful architecture, lively streets, and variety of cafes and restaurants made exploring the city a delight. My favourite places included the Prado Museum, Retiro Park, Plaza de Mayor, Gran Via and the historic city center. We ate at several local tapas bars and traditional Spanish restaurants, all offering delicious food. Getting around Madrid was very easy thanks to the efficient metro and bus system. The metro is very clean and efficient for travel. .We love the area where we have stayed twice, around Principe Pio. There is a massive park. There are good vibes and lots of young people.
