Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Mojacar is a medieval Moorish, town in the Spanish Province of Almería. This white-walled destination, which is situated on a rocky hillside at the foot of the Sierra de Cabrera, will surprise you with its natural beauty and unique architecture.
Rich in history and cultural heritage, Mojacar has been populated since the 2000 BC by Moors, Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans. Today, it is a maze of narrow streets with local shops, street markets and restaurants serving traditional dishes like the ancient 'gachas'.

It is easy to get around Mojacar as there is a good bus...
It is easy to get around Mojacar as there is a good bus service. From the excellent beach areas a bus will take you up to the town of Mojacar itself when on every Wednesday there is a small but lively market. There are some lovely gift shops with some interesting and unusual gifts and souvenirs. For those who like to shop, a visit to the Centro Commercial is definitely worthwhile. Great apartment but you need to get a taxi to town and they are few and far between there is a bus that comes every half an hour but not all night. The apartment in a development with two pools however there are no beds and you will need to buy your own bed if you want to sunbathe there the only other option is to go the beach club but that will cost you 25 euros per day. Mojacar pueblo is a pretty white village 15 minutes drive from mojacar beach. Lots of shops , places to eat and stunning views. The church in the centre is the only building in the whole village that isn’t white and worth a visit. There is a little bar called Loro Azul been there since 1994 good wine and very friendly hosts. Highly recommend. We ate at La Muralla the views are fabulous and great to watch sunset. Opens at 7-30 get there early as they don’t allow reservations. Good prices pizza was €12 . A nice village probably couple of nights stay would be enough . Most Shops close 2pm -5pm then reopen until about 9pm .Guest review byMichelleUnited Kingdom

Perfect location with large terrace overlooking the sea with the sunrise coming in through the stained glass doors every morning. Lots of bars and restaurants very close by. Bus stops all the way along the long promenade road which we used to go into Mojacar Pueblo, Vera pueblo and Garrucha for 1.20€ a time. Easy and safe street parking. Beach at the end of the road and bus stop if required. We could park our car off road as we drive to Spain, our 2 dogs had a safe free run of the garden with no gaps to escape. The apartment is split well as the kitchen, lounge/dining room were in the centre of the property and bedrooms were opposite ends, so would be great for 2 couples or a family of 4.
