The most perfect place I have ever stayed!! I almost don't want to write a review because everyone will want to go! :) This was my second time here, and it has become my sanctuary and my happy place, I plan to return every year if possible. The gourmet breakfast is delicious, with different options available every morning, fresh juices, fresh fruit, and excellent coffee! Dinner is fabulous with excellent service, tasty Michelin level food, beyond expectation! The place itself is perched up on top of the hill very close to a beautiful hiking trail called 'Monachil Los Cahorros' - (anyone can do this trail whether you want to do a shorter or longer route). The hike has hanging bridges, caves, streams, uphill and downhill routes! The most tranquil and beautiful spot you will ever visit, whether its a solo trip like me or with family, friends or a loved one! Be careful driving through the narrow, winding streets. some of them get narrower as you go and you may have a hard time turning around. The quality of accommodation was way above expectation in every way. The parking around about was easy, and the welcoming person helped me with it. I took 2 dogs (another was in hospital in Granada for cancer removal surgery, hence the overnight stay) and the cleaner could not have been kinder when I showed him one had shed hair on the sofa! "We have a machine for that!" Brilliant access to a spectacular area for people walking into the mountains, but not quite so accessible areas for dogs on leads. Poor meal in the nearest restaurant. Really well equipped kitchen and bathroom and everything, within the room and the communal areas, was spotlessly clean, with good quality furniture and furnishings. Couldn't fault it. The scenery is great, the city is nice. Parking is , if you see a spot it's yours. Did not expect on Sunday that no restaurants were open for breakfast around where the rental was. The hotel is in a great location for the gorge although it would have been useful to have had some directions at the hotel for how best to get to the gorge as we did not find the river walk on the way there. The hotel is great value for money with a comfortable room although the rooms are a little dated. A really good breakfast was included in the price. When we arrived there was nobody at reception and no-one came if we rang the bell, If this happens just ring the hotel number and somebody will come straight away.Guest review byDavies - 10
You can see the perennial snow of the Sierra Nevada...
You can see the perennial snow of the Sierra Nevada mountains. If you rent a car, you can even go to the top of the mountain range in an hour. Granada is only 10 minutes away by car, so it's also easy to visit Alhambra. I think Monachil is a pretty and peaceful resort town.Guest review byBilly ChoiSouth Korea

Great location 15 minutes from Granada and 40 minutes from Pradollano and Hoya de la Mora. We loved our two days in the snow and evening dinners in Granada. The pool was fantastic with lots of different places and to relax after a busy day, great views over Granada. Santiago was a wonderful host, very friendly and helpful. Although the accommodation is 20 mins out of Granada he will take you in and pick you up for much less than a taxi, this was a great bonus.
