It's an industrial area.
It's an industrial area. There are pleasant squares with bars, shops and restaurants, but they serve an essentially industrial area of the city. It's a fair distance away from the centre of Madrid, but does appear to have good public transport by underground train and bus (I didn't use either of them). My colleagues, who visited the city centre one evening, were alarmed at the poor standard of driving and general behaviour from their Uber driver, (very aggressive with pedestrians and other motorists), and unwilling and dismissive of where they wanted to go. Essentially they were told their intended destination was 'mierde' and they were taken somewhere else. I had no issue with the regular taxi drivers, though I'm sure they are also significantly more expensive. I will say that it's not a touristy sort of place, so you might need to break out your Spanish in order to get by. English is not a given in the various bars and restaurants. As someone trying to learn a bit of Spanish, I consider this a good thing... but depending on why you're in Spain and how much warning you might have had that you'd be there, this might not be ideal for you.Guest review byJim - 4.0

The room was clean and comfortable, but quite hot. The air conditioning was not working well. The machine was old and the air temperature was not able to be controlled. It was either off or on. It was a rather warm day and night and so sleeping was uncomfortable. The bed itself was very comfortable. The bathroom was also nice and clean but had very little lighting.
