Its a beautiful city with lots to see and do. It was where i was beginning my start of the camino from here to Finsterre onto Muxia I had enough time to stroll round, to the roof top tour of the cathedral, visit the pilgrims museum and also get great tapas and great food. Loads to choose from A very easy city to navigate and walk around, with beautiful architecture. Bonasi was a great cafe with delicious food and coffee, definitely do the roof top tour and get some tapas. The only thing to remember most places are closed on Sundays so be mindful of this and many places close for the afternoon and reopen for food between 7:30/8:30pm so depending on when you like to have lunch/dinner keep this in mindGuest review byLouiseIreland - 10.0

Santiago is a beautiful city. It's old center town is magical, straight out of a story book from the middle ages. Getting around the old town is easy once you get used to it. It's tempting to say there are too many peregrines in Santiago and there are. But Santiago wouldn't be the same without them we visit Santiago every year as a chilling out restful end to our summer vacation in Vigo. We walked the Camino for the 2nd time so Santiago will always hold a special place with us. There is nothing like finally arriving after hundreds of miles and finally walking into the square~ Was able to go to Mass and witness the Botafumeiro and did the tour of the roof. A good location within 5 minutes walk of the cathedral and La Plaza Obradoiro. The hotel is situated close to a Pharmacy which was useful as my wife had picked up a couple of bad mosquito bites. There is also a supermarket very nearby. If you're a fan of Arabica coffee ( rather than the harsher Robusta coffee) then we can recommend the Café Sonnenberg close to the Cathedral.
