Location right on the Kitinen River and right next to s cool bar made our wonderful stay even better. Although on holiday when we arrived staff did everything to accommodate us, including setting us up with e fat bikes (cycling here is a must). Great location just outside the kekusta for easy shopping

Climate change has taken its toll, and there is almost no snow in my hometown in the south of Finland. In Sodankylä, however, there is still winter, snow, ski resorts nearby, and the winter weather I used to have. The town is small and expensive, as it is very hard to maintain anything at that latitude. However, there are two supermarkets and some dining places. The walking paths are nice regardless of the season. You may be interested in visiting the amethyst mine in Luosto. There is not much to do in the town itself. If you are lucky, you can still see the EISCAT radar dish until they take it down in April 2025.

Quiet place and scenic views. we did not have a car so only...

Quiet place and scenic views. we did not have a car so only could explore by foot. we went to Luosto amethyst mines and that was a day well spent. We went during summer (August 1st) and we could not experince the nightless nights. it was also raining and cloudy. We bought groceries from K market and cokekct at home since we are vegetarians.

Very good short-stay hotel in Sodankylä centrum. The staff was very helpful and positive, the room was ok, the breakfast was ok (some special varieties, all necessities available), the hotel premises just ok, even little oldish... Good parking place fro the car just in front of the hotel.

Location is very nice. There are enough space for parking and important areas are in walking distance. Food in restaurant is very good, probably best in sodankyla. Staff is very helpful and keen to help also for the questions related to region and things to do.
