Amboise is a great town to visit.
Amboise is a great town to visit. Lots of lovely shops & restaurants in the town especially the Lebanese restaurant. The chateau d'amboise is lovely & the chateau clos de luce & gardens are fabulous. Tours is only 35 minute drive from amboise & the village of chedigny is 35 minutes away also. It's beautiful. Will definitely be back again.Guest review byMaryIreland - 10.0

Ancient buildings everywhere for history-lovers, in particular the chateau, but the real attraction for us was the Leonardo da Vinci connection. The Chateau Clos de Luce was his home for several years and houses a museum dedicated to him, full of interesting personal detail - drawings, paintings and, best of all, reconstructions of his speculative machines.
