We felt like we were transported to another time and place! Truly Magical! The garden so beautiful with views over the little village and the Dordogne river immediately below, the Castle immediately above, hot air balloons at dusk and a well equipped kitchen for us to cook the amazing local duck dishes! Our beautiful and attentive host Martine and owner Frederique, always so quick to reply with suggestions and helpful tips. And thankyou Martine for arranging our car space and greeting us on arrival and farewelling on our last 🙏🏻💖 a truly magical week of kayaking the Dordogne, exploring chateaus and incredible gardens, relaxing afternoons in the garden enjoying an aperitif and the beautiful endless twilight! This was the best accommodation of our entire trip. we stayed in the Collette room and had a beautiful view of the pool & courtyard. We loved everything! We chose the Zen room which was wonderfully large with all the furnishings you might need. There was a desk, a bench, loads of pillows and cushions. and I loved the low armchairs, the perfect height for bending over to tie your shoes. The huge, round bathroom was really special, I loved the idea of it being in the tower. There was so much care and thought to the comfort of guests, every little thing was available. The grounds are so peaceful, it’s a real escape. But still close enough to everywhere for taking in the sights. The best of all was Laurie, the manager. She was always available, made us feel superbly pampered, she worked so hard to ensure we didn’t want for anything. The email she sent me on arrival was invaluable with information and tips on the area - what to see, where to eat, and so on. We loved the Dordogne and if we come back, we’d love to stay here again!

Hotel is located in beautiful surroundings, view from your terrace of a valley, where deer could be seen every day. Very nice room, with a lot of amenities, like Nespresso coffee-machine, very clean. Very hospitable and kind owners, who did everything they could to ensure you had a pleasant stay. Food in the restaurant was delicious, besides a la carte, every morning a menu du jour was presented, in which adjustments could be made, if you did not liked certain courses.

A pleasant small hotel in a beautiful location. in this historic village on the Dordogne river. Paid parking is opposite and you can walk up to the Chateau. The rooms are average size but comfortable and with views over the viillage towards the river. There is a bar with ourside seating overlooking the river. This was our second stay and this time we tried the hotel restaurant . The food was outstanding!!!

One full day would have been enough to see Beynac and walk...

One full day would have been enough to see Beynac and walk to Castlenaud and back - two nights in the apartment would thus have been enough for me. BUT - if you have a car, and family, there is a lot to do and the town is much less crowded than Sarlat.

Apart from Beynac-et-Cazenac is so beautiful and interesting place to stay there are lots of other things to do and see, such as visiting castles, hiking, taking a boat on a river, canoeing and just visiting other nice little towns and villages with an excellent views! You can easily stay there 2 weeks and it’s still may not be enough to visit all spectacular places around.

We visited Beynac in the middle of the summer holidays, it was as if hell had broken loose, so many people, so many cars, buses and so on. Besides that it is a wonderful destination, next time we will try to avoid the 'high season'.

It was a beautiful small town to relax in and there were also some lovely attractions. The Beynac Castle was the highlight and many chateaux are in the area. There were enough small shops and restaurants to visit and all in all it was a lovely stay. We were there for 3 nights but could have spent longer in the area.

Beynac is a nice base for exploring the majestic Dordogne region. La-Roque-Gageac, Castelnaud, Domme, and Sarlat are all within 10 km or so, and Beynac itself is a lovely riverside village. You can't go wrong just about anywhere in the Dordogne, but you can definitely go *right* in Beynac.

Amazing location at the bottom of a castle with a river across the road. Simple and recently renovated rooms, clean and comfy. Staff were great, helpful and friendly. The restuarant (La Petite Tonnelle) just up from the hotel was the only one open (off season), it was a lovely little place - highly reccomend
