Welcome, lovely room, nice food

I received a phone call from the host as I finally reached the top of my long climb into the Ardèche during a long distance cycle race. Enquiring as to when I would arrive. I explained my fatigue and that it might take some time. I was assured that this was not a problem. On arrival I was greeted very warmly, shown my room and invited to dine too. During my whole 9 day, 2700km trip this was the only time I felt I just had to stay for breakfast, so kind were my hosts. The location is truly spectacular. By night the sense of peace and tranquility is extraordinary.

Great views over the lake. Had a tasty dinner on the terrace. Waitress service was excellent - very attentive and friendly. There were airers on a balcony to dry clothes.

Wonderful to find good accommodation that welcomed my dog with the additional bonus of a truly exceptional evening meal. Congratulations to the staff and chef, we were stunned at the quality and attention to detail, a real pleasure to see people with such skill and passion, every mouthful was a delight.

Right on the GR70 route. For a two star hotel this place is great. Good food and bar, quiet clean comfortable room, friendly staff. I cannot think of any reason not to stay here.

First and foremost, the host was absolutely amazing—one of the kindest and most helpful we’ve ever encountered. Her warm welcome and attentive service made us feel right at home from the outset. Whether it was offering local tips, ensuring we had everything we needed, or just sharing a friendly conversation, her hospitality was truly exceptional. For motorcyclists, this place is an absolute gem! The hotel offers secure private garage parking, which provided us with total peace of mind knowing our bikes were safe overnight. It’s clear that the hotel understands the needs of touring motorcyclists, making it an ideal stop for those exploring the region on two wheels. Our hotel room was superb—spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully appointed. The attention to detail was evident, from the comfortable bed to the well-thought-out amenities. After a long day on the road, it was the perfect retreat to unwind and relax. And then there’s the restaurant—simply out of this world! The food was nothing short of extraordinary, a true five-star culinary experience. Every dish was beautifully presented, bursting with flavour, and made from the finest ingredients. Whether it was a perfectly cooked main course or a delightful dessert, each bite was an absolute pleasure. The dining experience alone makes this hotel worth visiting! To top it all off, La Grange Détente, the hotel’s wellness space, was a wonderful addition to our stay. The opportunity to relax and rejuvenate in such a tranquil setting was the perfect way to end our days. If you’re touring on a motorcycle, this hotel is an absolute must.

The evening meal in the restaurant was fantastic! The room was simple but clean and comfortable and the atmosphere in the hotel was great with locals drinking at the bar and a lovely fire ( we were there in late October). We found it very welcoming and cosy and really appreciated the free lift in a minibus to Cheylard where we could resume the Stevenson trail in the morning. A big thank you to the staff for making it such a nice experience.
