Lourmarin is a bustling big village with a real energy about it. Lots of places to eat and shop, with a variety of interesting sites to visit in the village. the surrounding area is full of interesting villages to visit. We could have stayed for much longer. Wonderful place to use as a base for touring the Luberon and northern Provence. Very easy to get around on foot in the town, and ample parking, except on market day, which draws a big crowd. Get there early for best parking. There is a group of cafés at the city center which are ideal for having a coffee or a meal. We tended to prefer Café Gaby. L'Insolite restaurant was excellent! There are several other good restaurants and a lot of fun shops to peruse on a stroll around the town. The heart of Lourmarin, where we stayed, is extremely beautiful - cobbled streets and restaurants. If you cannot pull your bags for 100m, you may have a problem with staying in the heart, as it is paedestrian zone and the taxi needs to stop outside the zone - make a plan to pull your bag - it’s so worth it and very close to a not particularly friendly or helpful Info office, but still. Lourmarin is a lovely village with a great choice of cafes and restaurants and a friendly atmosphere. It is a good centre for visiting other areas within Provence. Lovely little provencal city with great markets on fridays...
Lovely little provencal city with great markets on fridays and lots of good food. Pricey of course as all of France but I really enjoy the boutique shops which offer other clothes than your run of the mill articles that you find everywhere else... Gorgeous decoration, great walk-in shower with a bench, and a very comfortable bed. A perfect booking to explore Lourmarin and the surrounding area, with a free public car park a 2 min walk away. Cecilia was great, and on hand whenever we needed some advice. We liked the close proximity to Lourmarin and strolling to the village to visit cafés. The room and bed was comfortable and it was delightful being able to step outside and swim in the pool which was clean and well maintained. Aurélie and Sébastien were welcoming and very friendly. The decor and design is just beautiful, the location perfect and having a pool was a bonus on the very hot days we were there. Staff were lovely and it was nice to sit and have a coffee out the front and watch the town wake up.
