Pontivy is a pleasant town, ideally located for a stopover if you are travelling along the Nantes Brest Canal. The architecture is very charming, a mix of Napoleonic and medieval buildings. We turned up very early at 12.15 soaking wet (we were on a motorcycle) they gave us a room and dried all our clothing in a drying room. The room was very comfortable and clean. They even lent us an umbrella (as the rain didn't stop all day)so we could have a look around the town and have some dinner.
