We loved Vannes.
We loved Vannes. The old town is so interesting with its medieval buildings and hidden streets and squares. It is so close to the port with its waterside activities. We visited the Cathedral and the Musee de Beaux Arts, Despite ongoing renovations at the Cathedral we still found lots to look at. The ramparts and gardens are also well worth a look. There were plenty of places to eat. The day we visited the old town it poured with rain so we had wonderful moules frites opposite the cathedral. The apartment is modern, fresh and light in à quiet residential area. Bus stops on the doorstep for to and from the centre of Vannes. There is nothing at all to dislike about this property. We were welcomed by Audrey, who gave us all the information we needed to ensure à trouble free stay - she was so friendly and helpful, and came to collect the keys on our departure. Pretty and extensive medieval centre, very photogenic, lovely shops and eateries. Similarly the port area directly adjacent. If you're going by car the roads and one-way systems are horrible. Head for large car parks rather than try street parking. There are also strange experimental bus lanes that run up the middle of the road and have right of way crossing in front of you. Staff very friendly and helpful. The room was bright and clean, with everything you would expect. The shower was excellent, the bed was enormous- and very comfy, and the WiFi was great. The car park was spacious and we had no problem parking. The hotel is in the centre of Vannes, within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants.
