There is enough to do for a few days out of season and it is an interesting place. Some parts of the town are tired but it was a lot better than many seaside towns. I went to Aberystwyth with specific activities in mind, including the historic steam train and the funicular. I enjoyed those and more in my walks around the town. Being on a strict food regiment, I was pleased to find several small, independent cafes serving GF, DF and vegetarian dishes. It was lovely although the weather wasn’t great. The cliff railway is a must the view is spectacular and cafe very nice. Rheidol railway very good if you like heritage railways. We enjoyed walking around the neighbourhoods, the friendliness of locals, nice range of pubs and excellent meals. We enjoyed walking thru the fields behind the top of Constitution Hill (furnicular). We spent lovely half a day at the National Library and surrounds. Beach and promenade is lovely and especially around the spit beyond the castle.
