Aboyne is a lovely place for a short break.
Aboyne is a lovely place for a short break. Good facilities and lovely surroundings. Places to eat out at night are limited but what is on offer is good. At present the Aboyne bridge to the South Deeside road is closed to vehicles and will be so for the next few years. Staff were all lovely, cheerful, friendly and very well informed about the food. The place is lively as ever, all attractively decorated in their theme colour of blue. We had a river view from our window. Very good food, portions very large and would feed folks who had done long walks. I used to do that but sadly not now. Most comfortable room. Just a lovely place. We didn't stop in the town of Aboyne itself, but if (or rather, when!) we go back, we will do so, as it looked very pleasant as we drove through. The scenery in the area is beautiful, and we enjoyed our drives around the area. There are plenty of placed of interest to visit and a super-abundance of castles.
