We arrived late at the hotel, but we were strongly welcomed by the hospitality team. The room was very quiet and comfortable, especially the bed and the chair - I had so restful sleep for two nights. The full water and milk bottles gave us a feeling of abundance. The breakfast was very delicious and big - even for a small breakfast! It's absolutely a delightful experience for both of us. Thank you team!

The breakfast was a self-serve buffet. But being a vegetarian who does not eat eggs, the staff were more than happy to make specialty vegan items for me. We were surprised at how accommodating the staff were.

Friendliness and kindness of the staff. Dining room staff are exceptional. Domestic staff were very kind, exceptional attention to detail of room cleanliness nothing was too much trouble. There was a good choice of meals, breakfast was amazing especially the continental. We felt very comfortable and relaxed and felt at home. Loved the swimming pool and steam room. Ayr is beautiful there’s some nice places to go and visit. We went to the Ayr farm park and seen the highland cows. We also walked to the pier and watched the sea. It’s so scenic. We had a Icecream in Ronaldo’s which was lovely and very well priced.

I stayed at Beechwood on my way from Belfast to Edinburgh, (and from the Isle of Skye to Belfast) it's about an hour and a bit by bus from Cairnryan (the ferry port). The hotel is a little over a mile from the bus terminus on the main road that goes out of Ayr. It took me about 40 minutes to walk with my luggage to the hotel as my GPS steered me wrong. I did it in 20 min without luggage. Ayr is a small town but has quite a selection of places to eat. I ate at Sherkan (an Indian restaurant that does more take out as their eating-in is adequate but not elegant. The food was good, but their cheese nan was like a large cheese pizza. In the morning I took the train to Edinburgh. The train stop was less than 5 minutes from Beechwood and the manager showed me where it was and printed out the train schedule for me. I visited the local Sainbury's which was only 15min walk from the hotel and picked up some fresh bread from a small local bakery on my way back.

We came to visit Ayr racecourse as horse racing enthusiasts.

We came to visit Ayr racecourse as horse racing enthusiasts. The actual course is fine but the buildings are dreadfully run down and facilities poor. From the outside it hardly open and given the time of year there was nothing to entice families off the beach. Poor racecourse management compared to many others we've been to. The town was also rather run down and I can think of no reason to return.

We have visited Ayr many times as we have family in the area. There are some lovely beaches nearby. Brig'o'doon and the Memorial garden definitely worth a visit along with the Burns Museum. Not far north and you are in the lovely town of Troon and less than half an hour inland to the fabulous Dumfries House. Lots of free parking, gardens to walk through, a maze, lovely cafe and a great play park.

Love Ayr, always have, it has so much to see and do, it is definitely a winner when you have the weather on your side. We picked the Western house hotel because of its old style look for the main reception and its location, very central, we had a family wedding to attend at the Brig o Doon, was perfect for us to stay.

Everything was great....wonderful bed, huge room, wonderful restaurant. The ONLY detractor was that, while the rest of the hotel was very clean, our room needed more attention. Overall clean, but a couple places in the bathroom weren't clean. I have to believe that was a one off.

The staff on reception were delightful! In fact all staff worked quietly & courteously. The menu was amazing! Great chef ! The variety & quality of the food was excellent! I hosted a small dinner for friends on the Friday evening & all commented on the standard of the food , beautiful & plentiful! Lovely service! I ate at another hotel on the Saturday..our school reunion was held there..The Alloway Brig o Doon Hotel, The Savoy Park Hotel cuisine was much superior & more reasonably priced!

Staff that I met on arrival were very friendly and looked after me as I had travelled up from North Wales for a concert. Other choir members were staying at various different hotels in Ayr. On leaving the hotel the receptionist was apologising to me me about the noise from the young farmers on my arrival however I said they didn't bother me and if I wasn't so tired from my journey I would have happily joined in with them. Would definitely visit Ayr again

Good location in Ayr. Handy for the beach and town centre. Pleasantly surprised to see Mahou availble on draught at the bar. Breakfast was good. We stayed in a superior double room which comprised off the main bedroom area, with a second room off of it, with 2 additional beds, which was good because it meant my wife and I could stay up a bit later and watch TV, whilst my infant son went to bed - hotel provide a cot for use at no additional charge.
