Quiet village, tea room next door to property, however not always open. Unfortunately the pub in Aysgarth is closed, however, In the nearby village of Carperby is the Wheatsheaf pub which does lovely food which I would recommend. Lovely walks straight from the property with Aysgarth Falls only a 20 min walk away.

Aysgarth is really well situated if you are looking for a base to stay on a visit to the Dales. It is a small, quiet village, but easy to find on the main roads around the area. Middle House is a lovely restaurant in the neighbouring village of Askrigg. The Falls are spectacular, well worth a visit and a walk around the area. A car is recommended for travelling around. If you like hiking and exploring the countryside, Aysgarth ticks every box.

If you are active at walking or cycling, or perhaps reading or writing, Aysgarth and the Hut are great, but if it's lousy weather, you might need to bring your own entertainment. I had a great meal in the Aysgarth Falls Hotel but the ambiance was not the best so I preferred to eat in. That was easy as all the cooking facilities are there and the local garage has food. For lunch, the Café Curva in Hawes is top of my list, but the cafe in Askrigg is good too.

The hotel was comfortable and homely & within easy walking distance of The Falls, the reason we chose it. The staff, particularly the afternoon/ evening ones, were very friendly and helpful. We were able to book our preferred seats for our evening meal. Lots of choices on the evening menu, all very generous portions. We would have liked more simple options for breakfast, fruit, creamy, not pouring, yoghurt

Great location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, but noise issues at night from main road for bedrooms at the front of the building. Hotel otherwise comfortable and attractive. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant is good. Definitely worth a visit.

Top marks for me for Stow House. A wonderful hotel in idyllic location. Hosts were Cheery and friendly. The chief of the welcome department was perfect and I'd have loved to bring him home!.... Room was spacious, warm and comfortable.... We loved the bath even though we didn't use it! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.... Plenty of safe parking for those on a road trip... We will definitely have Stow House as our first choice to stay next time visiting the Dales.

The Cottage was very comfortable and a great location. You literally couldn't get closer to Aysgarth Falls. There's a lovely hotel up the road for meals and drinks, very friendly staff and beautiful gardens. The Cottage was very well furnished with all the mod cons you could want. There are plenty of walks around the local area and lots of beautiful villages to explore.

Peter is a fantastic host, nothing too much trouble. The room was excellent, cold water available from a fridge outside the room and a lovely continental breakfast - croissants straight from the oven! I was hiking the Herriot Way and this is an excellent stopping point. Dinner available at a nearby hotel.

Serene location. Walking distance to aysgarth fall and other walks. Immaculate property. Loved the Coziness on the cottage and the tranquil location. Loved the log burner for relaxing after long walks and the outside seating area that we was lucky to enjoy due to good weather. 100% recommend.

A lovely country pub/hotel. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable if a little small. The food was lovely and the beer excellent. We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay.
