Great living conditions, helpful staff, close to local attractions, many restaurants in walking distance (including one in my favorite Wetherspoon chain). Easy access to Bristol airport by bus and taxi. The day of departure, the front desk booked a taxi to Bristol airport (V-cars) 40% cheaper than UberXL for me and my colleague.

FAQs about hotels in Bath

Roman Ruins and Georgian Grandeur

Wonderful, World Heritage site Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.

Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.

Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the Avon River overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-level Pulteney Weir and registered historic Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options include Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and brand-name stores on Milsom and George streets.

North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.

Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath hotel, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

My "must see" in Bath is definitely the Roman Baths!

My "must see" in Bath is definitely the Roman Baths! Whether or not you're a history buff, the highly informative audio tour transports you back in time throughout this amazing site. Also on the list is the stunning Bath Abbey with its Gothic architecture and a chequered history dating back over 1200 years. Be warned you may get a stiff neck from looking up at the beautiful fan vaulting and stained glass windows but it's well worth it! Take your time, wander around the city - it's full of amazing architecture from its Roman origins to the Georgian period - you need more than one day.

Beautiful city – two nights just wasn’t enough!

Beautiful city – two nights just wasn’t enough! We stayed central, and everything was within walking distance. We loved our time in Bath: relaxing at the Thermae Spa, exploring the Roman Baths, taking a boat ride from near Pulteney Bridge, and visiting the iconic crescent. There’s a fantastic range of shops and a lovely market to wander through, plus so many great places to eat. A highlight was The Raven – amazing pie and mash! We’ll definitely be back.

    We loved Bath.

We loved Bath. There is so much history there and in the surrounding areas. We were there for six days and found the city more enjoyable during the weekdays. The weekend was to crowded with tourists. Yes-I realize that we are tourists but you will have a nicer time if you can plan in a way that avoids them. I found it impossible to really see and enjoy the Roman Baths because of the large numbers of other people trying to do the same thing. The city is extremely walkable and the pedestrian only streets are amazing. Don’t miss a chance to go to Bath. You won’t regret it.

The main attractions are all within walking distance, and the free walking tour of Bath was informative and enjoyable. Many people were dressed in Jane Austen period clothing, as part of Bath’s annual celebration honouring Jane Austen, and that was a special treat to see!

Beautiful hotel located not far from Bath city centre (15 min walk) with wonderful decorations and friendly, helpful staff. The spa was really enjoyable, especially the outside heated spa pool.
