Donkeys in the street! Dont forget to visit the bakery; bread and pastries to die for and wonderful apple doughnuts. Also a very nice coffee/lunch/tea room. A good local butcher and several other interesting shops. There is a large public car park with toilet facilities. White Tails restaurant is just round the corner. The hotel’s setting is simply fabulous—surrounded by the beauty of the New Forest, it provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing escape. We were thoroughly impressed by the quality and range of the facilities, which exceeded all our expectations and truly enhanced our stay. A special word of appreciation must go to your staff, who were consistently friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Their warm welcome and attention to detail did not go unnoticed and made us feel completely at home throughout our visit. We would like to give particular thanks to ‘Sarah’?, who headed up the Conservatory Restaurant. It is a short walk away from the train station and all the local amenities whilst actually being set in the countryside. There are a great many places to eat-out in the village with a good choice of foods. The two bedrooms are a good size with very comfortable beds. Looks lovely at night and the view was nice across the new forest. Woke up to horses in the fields. Room very clean and bathroom very clean. We didn’t eat at the hotel but the tree and lobby area felt super Xmassy. Hotel bar good atmosphere. Didn’t have much contact with staff, so can’t really comment.
