We stayed at the Three Horseshoes over New Year. It is in a perfect location away from the crowds of Burford, set in beautiful countryside. The pub and rooms had just been refurbished. The rooms were really cozy and the food was excellent. We visited lots of pubs in the area and this was definitely the best. The owner and her stuff were wonderful, welcoming and helpful, we would definitely love to come back.

We arrived shortly before 5 pm and the lady gave us a great welcome, nice room, terrace outside, hot shower without escaping streams, in the middle of the village, next to the wonderful church. The place was quiet at night and close enough to Bibury for a leisurely stroll away from the crowds

The room "Dabo" was exquisite. Very large, clean, well furnished, and with incredibly good looking wood arch ceiling. Warm, too, which is important considering location and building style. It felt luxurious and country at the same time. The location is superb, prototypical Cotswolds: green, isolated (yet just 10min from Burford and 20-25min from Bourton or Stow-on-the-Wald), river passing by, quiet and stone buildings in style. The accommodation quarters are separated from the pub, so no nuisance. The pub has excellent food choice. Perhaps additional 1 or 2 vegetarian options straight on the menu may help, but when I contacted them about my son who is vegetarian they offered some off the menu options if I wanted to. Very friendly and helpful. The English/Continental breakfast options were included (bizarrely, excluding cappuccino; but then again not exactly English countryside, is it?) and superb quality: jam, croissant, compotes, yoghurts. I am definitely going back! An extra touch: there is history there, too, with Royals, PMs, and foreign diplomats visiting in the past. It was a birthday treat for my wife and (as my son put) "I nailed it!"

A nice enough Cotswold village, good selection of shops and eateries, lovely countryside around it for walkers. Good location as a base for visiting other areas of the Cotswolds (except for the roadworks!). Prices are high, sometimes you feel a little fleeced!

The town has a little bit of everything from a bustling town centre, small museum, great bookstores , a great choice and variety of cafes and pubs. The nearby country walks across beautiful Cotswold countryside also provides you with exercise and fresh air. Clarkson’s pub-The Farmer’s Dog-is within busing or walking distance. There are many other pubs worth visiting nearby as well-many providing delicious and nutritious meals. We really enjoyed our visit and would come again.

Burford is/was a quaint village.

Burford is/was a quaint village. Beautiful buildings at every turn. Stunning old church. Nice individual shops on either side of High Street, all very old and quirky. But beware the Brush Shop - very rude lady working there. However, we think Burford is the author of its own demise really, as it so very busy, especially the High Street and I have to say that some of those in vehicles were less than respectful of the pedestrians - and the drivers seemed local. Yes I would go again but not to the Brush Shop.

The Hound Cottage in Burford is an exceptional period cottage, situated only a few steps away from the centre of the village. We had a brief conversation with the hosts prior to our arrival and all our questions were answered. As you would expect with a period cottage the ceilings, especially in the bathroom, are quite low so keep that in mind when booking this beautiful cottage. Burford is a perfect base to explore the Cotswolds with its stunning nature, excellent pubs and restaurants and many sights nearby.

Beautiful old building and very pretty and quirky throughout. The room was a lovely size and the bed/bedding comfortable and luxurious. We had an evening meal and also the breakfast. The hollandaise sauce was probably the best I've ever tasted, and the poached eggs were done to perfection. Staff were friendly and attentive. The Village of Burford is very picturesque and an ideal location to explore the surrounding area. Perfect for any Clarkson Farm fans!
