Carlton is a peaceful village with limited traffic.
Carlton is a peaceful village with limited traffic. The village is kept clean and has a maintained feel to it. There are numerous accessible footpaths around the village. There is a village pub, owned by Carlton residents, that is well presented, and serves high quality home made food in the evenings. Middlam and Leyburn are both easily accessible by car for shops, pubs, restaurants, and are a pleasure to visit, with easy parking.Guest review byJULIEUnited Kingdom

What made this stay so special though was Diana the landlady, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and cared for, nothing was too much trouble. Diana’s attention to detail from extra room comforts to warm milk with coffee at breakfast made you feel like you were staying in a 5 star hotel! We were sorry we were only staying one night. We were so comfortable in this character cottage with plenty of space and so clean! Best bit is the views and location. Carlton in Coverdale is the cutest of all the Dale villages.
