Chipping Norton is a lovely town with great Pubs and cafe's and shops. It is in an ideal location to travel to many lovely towns and villages and has nice walks all around. We had Sunday Dinner at The Fox which was gorgeous. The yorkie was huge, 4 slices of meat and plenty of veg. We had a celiac and they were very knowledgeable and had a good choice of gluten free. Nice little town with great pubs and close by to local attractions. We stayed here so that we could visit the farmers dog and we were only 25 minutes away. We also visited a few of the other little towns and villages. Great location. We ate at Bitter & twisted one evening in chipping Norton. Staff were friendly and the food was lovely. It's a lovely village as has numerous nearby villages that are definitely worth visiting. We were looking to have a chat with locals in a pub and weren't disappointed. Everyone we met was friendly to us and we certainly enjoyed the various village pubs we visited. We particularly liked the Blue Boar in Chipping Norton (sitting outside basking in the sun) and Chequers at Churchill - great atmosphere with good food and service. Also close to Diddly Squat and Farmer's Dog which we visited and were lucky enough to meet Gerald at the Farm shop. We didn't go into the shop or the pub but as a visitor we enjoyed the alternate experiences available.Guest review bySandraAustralia - 8.0

I enjoyed the hotel and the grounds were lovely. Stairs were not the best in the hotel leading to all 3 restaurants, this is not ideal for people with aching joints. One lift was not working and I witnessed an older lady struggling with her 50+ daughter attempting to climb the stairs which were not many but too many for her. I think the atmosphere of the hotel suits 60+ guests better. We travelled out each day, however the places were very busy due to the bank holiday and parking is limited. We went to the brewery 39 mins from hotel , they have two beautiful shire horses. Food was fabulous and not badly priced.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Lovely pub with very friendly and helpful staff - wonderful warm welcome. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty. Rooms hot but it was a heat wave. Some slight noise disturbances in one of our rooms - one a house alarm which was outside of the pubs control and the other was due to an early delivery - this was not a big issue and not enough to deter us from staying, but worth considering if you’re a light sleeper staying in one of the annex rooms. Chipping Norton is a lovely place with a number of pubs & takeaways. It’s very close to the Diddly Squat farm shop and also able to drive to other places easily from here. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent all cooked to order and the best place to eat in Chipping Norton that was the opinion of the local folk. So you need to book a table for dinner. The room was really very nice we stayed for 4 nights and it was quiet (room 7) bed very comfortable and shower excellent all spotless.
