Room well suited for disability access but poorly located beside front door and in corridor leading to busy bar and busy rear conservatory areas. Hotel popular with local, noisy, rowdy young drinkers, all swearing loudly, females screaming at each other constantly rather than conversing naturally. Speaking as a mother of 2 students and former Secondary School Teacher this establishment’s bar guests did not represent themselves, the local neighbourhood, Scottish tourism positively and I would most certainly not recommend this establishment for families. The Guests in 2 other rooms, although situated on the upper floor were also unable to experience the relaxing Sat evening watching TV they had envisaged and like us, did not receive an apology the following day from those responsible for mismanaging the situation.Guest review byMonicaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
We had a family room that was quite spacious.
We had a family room that was quite spacious. The hotel is very easy to find and is a good break night if travelling further north. Although it is situated on the outskirts of town it is very quiet and peaceful with very good views. During our stay we ate in the hotel bar and found the menu selection to be the standard fayre expected on a pub menu. All well cooked and reasonably priced for a travelling family. The staff were great. The new owners need to get in touch with Booking.com (or the other way round and amend the info sheet).The faults were minor and didn't cause me any problems. Ishbel had left us milk, juice, bannock bread among many other home comforts.
