I went to Crewe to see the local area. I visited Nantwich and Sandbach. Nantwich is a lovely small town, and Sandbach is a bit bigger, both lovely to visit. This is not an unbiased opinion! I used to live and work in Crewe, and still make regular visits. It is an excellent base for travel in all directions, and so ideal for touring holidays, especially using train services. But the town has suffered from the delays and partial cancellation of the "High Speed 2" rail line, and changes prompted by the break up of British Rail. Rail House, the 12 storey office block by the station, is now a derelict eyesore although I understand that Cheshire East Council is endeavouring to address this.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 4.0
There is absolutely nothing of value in Crewe.

I liked everything.

Enjoyed my stay at The Waverley Hotel. There's no frills but this is a proper English B&B that is clean, comfortable and the staff are welcoming and friendly. My wife had to leave early in morning but Gina prepared a Continental breakfast for her. Full English Breakfast was cooked perfectly and delicious. For the price, this hotel is excellent value.
