One of my favourite stays! The flat itself is so beautiful, very clean and peaceful. I wish we had more time to just relax and read, but we had commitments. Large bedrooms and comfortable large beds, bath in the rooms, at Pettifers. Food in their restaurant was great. Several areas to sit. Games to play were supplied. However would not recommend for a large group of people as staffing levels in restaurant not high enough. Good sized car park. Quiet rural village close to interesting historic places like Shorncote old medieval church, Cirencester Roman site & museum, Lacock Abbey (a 40 min drive) and lovely little pubs. You'd need a car or careful checking of public transport routes, lovely area for cycling around the lakes & lots of little cafes there (daytime & weekends). The car park was at the back of the property so our vehicle & dogs were safe. The hotel is dog friendly & welcomes well behaved dogs with open arms. The food was excellent. The staff are very friendly, helpful & welcoming. There is a public footpath opposite the hotel. Ideal for walking the dogs. We met villagers & they were friendly & interested in our dogs.
