We loved our stay. It was cozy and peaceful. Exactly what we hoped for. It was also really close to the Churnet Valley Polar Express which was great for us. Our son loved the playground across the road.

Everything! The location was great and the cottage was well equipped and comfortable. Lovely outside area for the dog and good walks nearby. I slept really well, wish we could have stayed for longer.

Friendly and efficient service - well staffed, we were never kept waiting Complimentary breakfast Clean well equipped rooms, everything from WiFi, TV, iron etc. Conveniently located There is a bar and restaurant but there is also an excellent harvesters right next door Ultimately great value for money, I'd stay again.

Room lovely and WARM ! Meal in restaurant great. Staff warm and friendly. Bar staff quick to serve...ooh those gin and tonics-------location is perfect, shopping on your doorstep. Stayed at Weathervane few times and always enjoyed and after visiting from my home in spain it is a great meeting place for catch ups with friends. A1 well done to all. will be back

It exceeded my expectations for the budget price that we had to pay. I was blown away with what we had for the cost of our stay. £40 for two people and there was a sauna, a gym, a steam room. Although budget it's 100% worth and value for money, but remember it is a budget. Stay bear that in mind the holiday is what you make it. We met some wonderful people. Thank you for this day. I would definitely go back. The atmosphere was great

    Brilliant little village, the pub on the corner Charlie Bennetts, open mic night and food outside was really good although it took a long time. 20 minutes away from Alton towers and half way to Cornwall where we were heading next.

    Great place to stay in beautiful countryside and also really near Alton Towers if you need to stay over before/after a long day in CBeebies land. Would advise if you want a pub dinner then don't stay on a Monday as most of the pubs around are either closed or don't serve food on a Monday night.

    The place was lovely very quiet and the scenery was amazing...

    The place was lovely very quiet and the scenery was amazing . I think when you go to quiet places the people you meet seem a lot more friendly and helpful . Only stayed for a night so we got to visit the local chippy and the pub after watching the fireworks at Alton towers .

    The owners Nigel and Caron were so friendly on arrival and depart, they made you feel very welcome. They happily showed us round and explained how to work the hot tub etc. then they left us alone but we’re never far if we needed anything! Fabulous place!

    The Malthouse is compact, but perfect for a short break for...

    The Malthouse is compact, but perfect for a short break for two. We stayed two nights, eating in both of the local (walking distance pubs) note only one allows dogs. Its a quiet peaceful location, and is obviously used regularly as a base for visiting Alton Towers.

    It's a beautiful retreat, close to Alton towers,but you in the country with beautiful views and surrounding areas. Ashbourne ,leek, congleton and Uttoxeter was where we visited and enjoyed. Jayne the host is simply a wonderful person. 2 pubs with in walking distance, Charlie Bassets is the one we went to and had a beautiful meal and drinks which were reasonably priced. They also use locally resourced food. Good location for going to other towns and villages in the car ,plus the peak district is on you're doorstep, plenty of walking tracks . Good internet connection and sky tv, also a very good parking area on the property and a safe parking area, out door sitting area with beautiful views of the countryside and the use of the summer house. Very easy to find and Jayne sends you an email with directions and how to access the annex, wifi password etc.
