The bed was comfy, I slept really well. The staff were friendly, helpful and willing. The Eagle and Child is in a brilliant location for bus travel to Blackpool or Lancaster or Preston. The local shops and boutiques are full of local produce.

What an amazing little hidden Gem we found! If you love a quiet tranquil place with beautiful views all to yourself then this is the place to be. Me and my partner booked this very spontaneously as we had a rare night without the kids , and it didn’t disappoint, it was beautiful inside and out with all the facilities included , it also had a very cozy cottage feel to it which I love . We really enjoyed star gazing in the hot tub and waking up to see all the rabbits running around in the field. I also like that it had private gates on the property and a private drive way, the owner ( Summer) was absolutely lovely and very helpful . We will definitely be returning .

We had a fabulous time from when we arrived to when we left, we actually stayed an extra night. The staff are just amazing, nothing is too much trouble. The food is first class and a wide variety which caters for all tastes. The bar is well stocked. So if you come to Garstang make sure you stop off at the the Royal Oak you won't be disappointed

Fran was an excellent host. During many conversations she also had good recommendations for nearby pubs and local walks. The bed was just right and plenty of drawer space, and the location was ideal for my activities. Local bus stops and Sainsbury store were directly across the street.

From the moment we done the check in till the check.out, everything was perfect. The appartement was big enough, the bed was very comfy ( the sofa bed not comfortable at all) , the rooms get warm so quickly and everything you need is available at the appartement. The staff are nice and friendly but Jane from the Restaurant was just amazing. This was my first time staying there, already booked it again for Valentines

    Garstang is a very busy village with many independent shops.

    Garstang is a very busy village with many independent shops. Every shop we visited welcomed us in and were very friendly. We visited the Barn at Scorton for lunch, it was bustling and the food was excellent especially the ice cream. It also has a gift shop and plant nursery. Lancaster is the nearby main railway station and is a city worth a visit with castle and cathedral. Also not far from Blackpool and the Lakes.

    Garstang is situated in a wonderful area!

    Garstang is situated in a wonderful area! There are lots of walks and places of interest to visit! I used to live in the area about 30 years ago and was quite disappointed that the centre looks so grotty.. what a shame!

    Beautiful village. Lots of pubs for meals. Friendly natives. Market day on Thursday. Walks along both river and canal. Cheese factory nearby. Royal Oak. Th'owd Tithe Barn. The Velvet Carrot the best coffee, cakes and breakfasts.

    Lovely clean, well cared for town.

    Lovely clean, well cared for town. Locals clearly love and appreciate their town. Great places to eat and drink and particularly enjoyed the heritage plaques - really interesting. Staff in the shops were welcoming and friendly.

    An amazing country hotel in a in peaceful countryside near to town of Garstang with amenities. Easy to find and well located for M6 motorway. Huge free car park. A hidden gem in Lancashire with friendly and attentive staff and lovely home cooked Lancashire style dinner with a bar that opens out to canopy and golf course views. Local golfers gather outside the bar but friendly to hotel guests. Would recommend for couples visiting family, business or just visiting the area. Easy travel for day trips in area or beyond or exploring Garstang as an area with nearby walking.

    In a previous visit in 2021, we did walk around and discover lovely rural surroundings. From the listing on the breakfast menu, this location is good for walkers and outdoor pursuits.. so ideal for many more than us, just a stop off on a long road trip. The town is compact but has a good feel about it.. especially that it has a number of pubs and other eateries. There is a market on certain days and that gives the whole place a good feel.

    Easy check in, with nice friendly staff from arrival to departure. Food was lovely, we had a very nice evening meal (with good hearty portions) and the cooked breakfast was top notch. Everything was clean and nicely presented. Handily situated car park. Really liked Garstang, it seemed a friendly little town and we found abdog walk by the river close to the hotel.
