FAQs about hotels in Glasgow

Fun-loving & Forward-thinking

Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow combines Victorian architecture and a vibrant arts scene. A former European City of Culture, it is home to many national organizations including the Scottish Ballet and the National Theatre of Scotland. The museums are also world-class. Don't miss the futuristic Glasgow Science Centre and the eclectic exhibits at the Kelvingrove.

Lined with Georgian buildings, George Square is the city’s focal point and the spot for Glasgow Hogmanay celebrations. Fanning out from here are streets housing venues for the city’s main love: music. From classical concerts to up-and-coming bands, there's something for everybody.

As host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow is also a city of sports. Scotland’s 2 iconic soccer clubs - Celtic and Rangers - are based here, as is the national soccer stadium, Hampden Park. The Scottish Football Museum is also an excellent walk through the beautiful game.

Arrived by train at Central station, two Taxi-drivers told us they did not know the Apex Hotel which was only a few hundred yards away. I suspect they did not want a short booking. We decided to walk. As two eighty year olds with suitcases after a long journey from Essex, this was exhausting! Then to be told that there was no bar or evening restaurant gave us a very poor initial impression. The room and breakfast were fine

I liked the Cathedral, the Central train station, the Clydeside Distillery and the botanical gardens. However there were a lot of roadworks everywhere that made walking hard - even the main square was all inaccessible.

I’m from Glasgow but haven’t lived there for many years. Great parks, great shops. Always something going on. Amazing pubs everywhere. Some with traditional musicians and theatre sessions (Oran Mor for “a play, a pie and a pint) Glasgow has a buzz of energy. Centuries of fascinating history, stories, legends. And you’re a couple of hours away from breathtaking natural beauty if you head north.

Nice clean city . great pedestrian streets with lots of shopping. Amazing history and museums, the River side museum was very interesting we could have spend more time there. People were incredible friendly came up to us a view times on the street to asked if they could help to find something. The subway was efficient and easy to use and very clean. We would like to go back again in the future.

Transport was excellent, travelling by bus or underground. Must visits: Kelvingrove Art Galleries, Cathedral, Botanic Gardens. Buchanan Street and St Enoch's Shopping Malls. Plentiful restaurants to suit all tastes. Regular trains for one day trips to other Scottish destinations from Central Station and Queen Street Station.

Lovely Hotel right in Glasgow City Centre with restaurants and bars along the same road. Spacious room, and good tea coffee making facilities. Parking in Glasgow no problem as the NCP close by they will give you a ticket at reception when you check out, or check in, which you will use with the original ticket you obtain when entering the car park.. It's easy....Just find the car park which is the Glasshouse, G1 1UP, on entry get a ticket and pay on exit but use both car park tickets putting the original one in first....

The host was lovely. The apartment was very centrally located and within a walking distance to Glasgow city centre. I stayed with my family and the kids loved the balcony in the living room which is also secure. Well equipped kitchen and a well decorated property throughout. We travel to Glasgow a lot to see family, and we will definitely be booking this apartment again. The bonus for us is the free parking and the smart TV. Kids loved watching Disney and netflix which is not common in even thnicest hotels these days.

The book in process was easy and quick. Everything was clean and new. The coffee and shortbread in the room were delicious. The provided soaps and shampoos smelled lovely. The shower was very easy to control. The lifts were very quick to respond. The USB sockets charged our phones very quickly. The Hotel is very central in Glasgow City centre. We thought the lighting was too dim at first but our eyes soon adjusted.
