Huddersfield doesn't have the best of reputations, which is a pity. I think that it's an absolute gem. The buildings are gorgeous, particularly to one who looks, such detail and reference to the industrial past. From the entrance steps to the railway station, one can see a lion and a prime minister. If you roam and keep your eyes open, there is so much more. I ate at my hotel. i travelled by car,

Huddersfield is very run down but has some interesting buildings. And for a classical music lover like me has a magnificent Town Hall concert venue and the world famous and superb Huddersfield Choral Society chorus. The world and UK economy has to improve before the town can start to recover its previous glory days as a centre for music making. There appear to be no music or book shops left and finding healthy food options is difficult. Best of luck and I hope the music scene survives. And I hope the excellent library and art gallery completes the cultural offer as soon as it re-opens

The location was fair for us as we needed to be a short distance to Brighouse. Nice and spacious. Lovely large garden. Detached. Warm. The property needs a makeover, rotten wood on bathroom door. The door fell off. The Summer Room patio attached to house door was broken and could not be closed. The only security at the rear of bungalow was a wooden framed glass door secured with a "star Key" security lock.

Lovely city - really showcases both the old stone buildings and hospitality of Yorkshire. Easy to get around and even though 6 inches or more of snow had fallen , the main roads were kept perfectly clear by the local council.

On arrival we were informed that we had the best room with a view as booked only to be told that there was a mistake with booking. Com. So was given a room with dirty walls one towel for two people and a view of a car park plus back of pubs and other building. Not very happy would not recommend self check in information said if you needed anything dial 0 but no phone what a joke.

Brilliant booking in / arrival procedure :- Holly was fantastic - everything she said ( like sorting parking, providing an invoice, answering little questions etc ) was done immediately and with absolute thoroughness and professionalism. Great location too - very quiet ( slept like a log both nights ! ) and everything going on in Huddersfield ( bars, restaurants etc ) just a 200 metre stroll into the town centre.

The hotel has a lovely cosy bar area. The breakfasts were good too and in a room just off the reception/bar area. The hotel is nicely decorated and very clean. The staff were friendly and the location was super. There were ample parking spaces and it was just a £2 bus ride into Huddersfield.

Great location in the town centre. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, the rooms were large and the ceiling windows were a lovely feature. The shops are on your doorstep which is convenient. The property was convenient for the one night we were in Huddersfield.

Disappointing - What previous guests thought, 114 reviews
Free car parking on site, 10-15 minute walk into Huddersfield city centre, comfy beds, kitchen facilities, very quiet (but we were here on a Tuesday and appeared to be the only guests) and reasonable value for money overall.

The Hotel phoned day before I was due to stay to say room had been flooded and I was unable to stay as there wasn't an alternative room. Not the staff's fault, so review is written for the call received.
