I think Robert Burns is an amazing writer but he's all wrong about Inverary. It's a friendly town with wonderful shops, amazing food especially if it comes out of Loch Fyne. Stay at The George Hotel and Charlie, Sam, and the entire staff will create lifetime memories for you.

Lovely little town. Loads of places to eat and drink. The jail is well worth a visit. The castle is worth a visit but it was very busy and therefore difficult to get the most out of it however it was a Sunday lunchtime so maybe not the best time to go.

The views from Inverary are exceptional.

The views from Inverary are exceptional. The residents of the town are very friendly If you want to unwind, slow down your pace of life, find real peace and relaxation then Inverary would be an excellent choice to visit. We ate an evening meal from the local fish and chip restuarant and sat looking down the loch enjoying it. Walking around Inverary is easy . It has wide pavements and the town is flat with no steep gradients.

Inveraray Jail, was amazing to see what jail life was like n the 1600s Very first item we saw was a man who stole 2 horses, and a cheese he was hung for his crime, couldn't stop thinking about it all day.. Really need to see it for yourself to understand how bad life was back then. Inveraray Castle was beautiful and so interesting, had a lovely tea outside before looking round the gardens and walking through the grounds. Inveraray Bell Tower is fantastic too once you climb the 176 steps, you can see amazing views..

A pleasant small town with a beautiful outlook over Loch Fyne. The consistent white facade of buildings added to the aesthetic appeal. The tour de force is the castle. This has a very interesting interior with weapons displays, everything is well kept. The gardens are lovely and the castle is on a beautiful site with the river Aray running through the grounds.

The George hotel was a lovely old historical hotel in the middle of Main Street Inveraray. Our room was clean, large and warm with comfortable bed and our stay included a full cooked breakfast which was delicious. We ate dinner at the George and could not fault the meal - salmon, mussels, clams in a spicy seafood broth with book chop and a platter of trout pate, caper berries, salmon, prawns, scallops. Absolutely fantastic! Staff at check in and leaving along with all restaurant staff were fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Brambles is lovely place to stay. I had a wonderful room, very comfortable bed and high quality shower and other fittings. All the staff were lovely and upon arrival I spent some time in the cafe/ bistro over the road from my room, which is also run by Brambles. I paid more than I normally do for a hotel room, but it was worth it for the experience. The staff also ensured that I could park my bicycle safely under cover. This service is often lacking at the more expensive hotels.

Location and breakfast fine. It was the beds and the room we were given. Right next to staff quarters the room was smaller than other rooms, the heat in the hotel at night would pass you out. The toilet seat was stained. Beds and pillows not comfortable and the actual room being small was not good either.

The rooms were warm & comfortable, and well stocked with tea, coffee, milk etc. The host was very thorough in giving lots of information about the hotel and surrounding amenities. Our 2 car party was on a motoring holiday, and Rob, our host was very knowledgeable about local scenic routes in the area.
