    We attended for an event.

We attended for an event. The accommodation was perfect as near to the beach as we could get. I enjoyed watching various vessels with binoculars from the top floor of our accommodation. There was plenty of places to eat and we loved eating in the wonderful outdoor places before the Harbour Arm. The scenery was beautiful and everyone was very accommodating. I would love to go again but stay longer. We didn't travel really once there as there was everything we wanted where we were within walking distance.

My wife and I were born and brought up in Kent, so think it's special, even though we moved away years ago. Margate has developed extensively on the back of the Turner gallery, but there is also much to admire off the beaten track, particularly as the once-tired traditional seaside resorts, like Folkestone become more popular. Less well advertised attractions like the Wildwood Trust or the Brogdale National Heritage fruit tree collection are well worth a visit. Towns like Faversham and Whitstable have managed to retain their traditional feel with small specialist shops,

The beach is at the end of the high street in Broadstairs...

The beach is at the end of the high street in Broadstairs which is perfect for picking up any last minute amenities along the way. I visited the Turner Museum for the first time & I found travelling backwards & forwards from Broadstairs station to Margate a few times (forgetful me) really easy & I'm not sure if this would have been any easier by car so its a 👍 for the railways.

    Broadstairs is a hidden gem.

Broadstairs is a hidden gem. I’m eighty now but first went when I was five and beyond. I then took our young children for many years - and we still go back - and now my granddaughter has joined the fan club! So many Kent/Surrey people don’t know about Broadstairs. It hasn’t changed much since I was a child. Morellis goes on and on (thank goodness!)

    Love Canterbury and the Cathedral.

Love Canterbury and the Cathedral. Some good pubs and unique shops. Great gardens at the bottom of town but this time Pride weekend was on and the city was a tad too busy. Rye is a nice afternoon out and the Fish Restaurant at Webbes is very good. Whistable is a typical English seaside town and great for fish and oysters. Recommend eating at he Whistable Oyster Company.

I didn’t like the 5G towers that are harmful to health.

I didn’t like the 5G towers that are harmful to health. I was shocked by the number of dubious looking attachments to the telegraph poles in the area. I was desperate to visit my brother who has been poorly for sometime.
