We enjoyed our stay at the Estate of Ord - many things contributed to this, not the least of which was the polite and professional service from the staff. The country location and the old estate are charming. Our room had plenty of room, a nice high ceiling and a good bath. Things that could be improved are the lack of an electrical outlet for charging devices in our room and the provision of lighting from the lower parking area (as we were not able to find a space at the lodge and had to manage in the dark). One evening there was no hot water for a shower, as well. Otherwise, everything was very nice and the food was good. Our family trip to the Scottish Highlands happened very last moment in the Peak season -July. All hotels and apartments were pretty much booked or available at horrendously high prices. This property showed up in my search as an affordable option. To be honest we were not even sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised to find a neat and cosy cottage with clean and modern set up. Would highly recommend to go for this property if you have access to your own transport. The property does not serve breakfast but I was told there are cafes nearby that do. It was lovely ,well presented and just like the pictures online.Nice terrace to sit on. Nice friendly welcome from the host. Bed was very comfortable we slept very well. Shower was good. And the whole chalet was spotlessly clean. We were attending an event in Inverness so only a short journey away and much more peaceful and much less expensive than in town. There are 4 local walks starting from the square.Each takes you to a different type of countryside eg down to the sea to watch seals,up a hill to see lovely views,along the old railway line and through lovely woods and along quiet roads.It is only 2.5 miles to Beauly and there is a pavement all the way so we walked there and had lunch in a pub there and wandered round the shops.We drove to Chanonry Point to look out for the dolphins.We didn’t see any but enjoyed the beach and watching the people coming and going.Guest review byAilsaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Ideal for visiting nearby family on black isle and nairn. 10 minutes by car to Inverness. Lots of places to visit in the area. Chalet was immaculate inside and outside was being repainted.
