I was staying at the hotel due to an unfortunate situation, with plans changing daily—extending my stay, switching rooms—it was exhausting. Throughout it all, the staff was incredibly accommodating and supportive, especially the overnight team. I feel terrible for not remembering their names, but once they understood the reason behind my stay, they treated me like a member of their own family. They checked in on me regularly, asked about my well-being and how my family was holding up, and were always there to lend a listening ear—whether I needed to vent or cry, or offer a laugh when they knew I desperately needed a break from reality. Their kindness helped me through what felt like a living nightmare. I truly don’t know how I would’ve managed without them. Each "Make sure you're taking care of yourself too" as I returned to my room at night and every kind word of support not enough hours later, gave me the strength to face another day. They may not realize it, but their compassion made all the difference.

FAQs about hotels in Newcastle upon Tyne

The Spirit of the North

A former Industrial Revolution hub, Newcastle has reinvented itself into a vibrant, forward-thinking city. Although no longer brewed here, Newcastle Brown Ale, or Newkie Brown, is synonymous with the city, so it’s no surprise that the nightlife is fantastic.

From the O2 Academy to the Sage Music Center, the Newcastle music venues are among the best in England. The city also has a thriving arts scene, including The Biscuit Factory – Britain’s largest original art store.

Equally as good is the Newcastle shopping. The Central Arcade is in an attractive Victorian building, and across the River Tyne in Gateshead is the Metro Center, Europe’s largest shopping and leisure complex. Indeed, these 2 cities have a healthy rivalry that plays out in sports, architecture and, sometimes, the bizarre.

Gateshead boasts the Angel of The North, a huge statue that is already its most recognized (and controversial) symbol. While in Newcastle the Vampire Rabbit sits above a door near St Nicholas’ Cathedral. Newcastle United Football Club has the most prestigious record, but Gateshead Stadium has seen many a star compete at its international athletics meets.

To the west of the city are some remains of Hadrian’s Wall and further north is Newcastle Airport. See Booking.com for a range of accommodations all over this happening city.

The town centre is very compact so many of the main attractions are in easy walking distance. We came for the Mercury Awards 2025 and had a great evening with a lovely, good natured local audience. Newcastle has become a much more multi cultural city in last 10 years, the food is getting better, it even has a bohemian area now with micro brewery and good food. its cleaner with more attractions like the baltic art gallery too but its greatest asset are the people who are so friendly also the city feels very safe.

Such a lovely place is Newcastle.its great for shopping and seeing the history of the city. But mostly, is the friendliness of the people. Certainly felt safe. Even walking in the evening. Great places to eat, I recommend Pho The food was delious and price was good too. Also Babucho, amazing food and great for special occasions. Brilliant service at both restaurants. Wetherspoons is another. With 3 floors you'll always find a seat and breakfast was lush. It is easy getting round Newcastle, either walking, bus which has many buses going to different areas and Uber if your in a hurry. Night life is great for the young at heart 😉 Revolutions and revolutions de Cuba are great place to go for drinks and a good old boogie, excellent service.

The location is great for anyone wanting to be in Newcastle, though not directly in the city centre. Great location for venturing out and exploring Newcastle and the surrounding towns. Staff were lovely, up beat friendly, always on hand. Great selection of foods for breakfast. Both pizza restaurant and pub which are with in the hotel were lovely. The room was Morden but traditional, promoting the history if Gosforth, which is a lovely touch. Plenty of parking available, at no extra cost. Will definitely be back again.

I spent a couple of nights in Newcastle to explore the city . Hotel was great , helpful reception staff , comfy bed , fast Wi-Fi , efficient air con which was appreciated as it was unusually hot in Newcastle. Hotel very well located , few minutes walk to the city centre . Plenty of car parking available , seemed pretty secure. Never made it to breakfast, so can’t comment on its quality. Excellent hotel , more than happy to stay again
