I rate this property 10/10 but do have a couple of observations. The area in which this hotel is at is stunning. The views are amazing and you are surrounded by nature which gives it a very peaceful energy and we absolutely loved this about this property. The decor inside is beautiful but it does feel like a work in progress in some areas. Staff is nice. If you come from a warm culture you would think otherwise but later realized that Scottish are very hospitable and friendly people and are mostly always happy to help. The breakfast was the highlight of this trip. Every morning we were prepared the most delicious English breakfast and even had the option of a vegetarian sausage. The bed in the rooms are super comfortable. The bathroom although very spacious and modern, had a some mold spots and spider webs. We had to take taxis to the city center and it was a bit steep ( about $45 usd one way ) but had the best drivers around showing us the city and telling us a little bit of everything about the history there. Overall I do recommend the hotel and given the opportunity would stay again.

Stable Cottage provided us with a truly delightful and relaxing stay. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the generous size of the cottage, offering ample space to unwind and feel at home. The interior decoration was a particular highlight, beautifully designed and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. Comfort was clearly a priority, and we found the cottage to be exceptionally well-equipped and furnished. One of the standout features was the lovely garden, a true haven of tranquility. It proved to be an excellent addition, especially for those traveling with a dog, offering plenty of space to roam and enjoy the outdoors. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and informative, making us feel instantly at ease. Their helpfulness and attention to detail greatly enhanced our experience. They were readily available to answer any questions and provided valuable local recommendations.

The Housekeepers Rooms at Oxenfoord Castle was just an amazing location, home from home with everything you could wish for. The property has a washing machine and dryer, a microwave oven, a toaster and a conventional electric oven together with an iron and ironing board and a hairdryer. You can relax and watch tv in your own comfy sitting room too. Drinking coffee in the morning while watching deer, hare and squirrels on the lawn was just perfect. If you love to immerse yourself in historic surroundings, with original archictectural features all around you, then this is the unique location for you.
