    Great choice for overnight stay.

    Great choice for overnight stay. Beautiful setting, accommodation furnished to high standard, excellent meals in Golfers' Lounge, helpful staff, very comfortable beds. Travelling through the Cannock Chase to Rugeley is a lovely introduction to the varied species of trees and venues for a tourist.

    Great village/small town.

    Great village/small town. Lots to do what with pubs and great little shops around including the outdoor Market on a Wednesday and Saturday. The train station is within walking distance and some lovely walks by the canal and river penk nearby.

    Lovely town with great pubs and places to eat serving qreat...

    Lovely town with great pubs and places to eat serving qreat food. Great walks along the canal. Great place to break the journey and only 5 mins off the M6. Peaceful and quiet town. Can walk round the town and canal in an hour. The Boat Inn is a great place to eat as is the Littleton Arms.

    The best thing about our stay in Penkridge was the walk into...

    The best thing about our stay in Penkridge was the walk into the village for something to eat, we went to the Longridge Inn which was excellent. As already stated on arrival at the Hatherton Hotel we thought we had arrived at the wrong place because it looked completely derilict and not as shown on the Booking doc com website the picture was obviously the one that had been taken when the hotel was thriving.

    Hotel was not really in walking distance, we drove to go out...

    Hotel was not really in walking distance, we drove to go out for tea, tried to ring a couple of pubs however no answer apart from the boat house lovely pub, staff were friendly, did get a but noisy outside as the drinks were flowing. Near to our hotel was the market which is massive and have anything you are really looking for.

    The bar and restaurant are spacious and friendly staff greet you and explain everything. Dinner of sea bass and veg was delicious. The building is quirky with low doors and sloping floors and there is presently refurbishments going on but this wasn't a problem. The bed was comfy but as the room was so warm had to keep the window open which was above the hotel's noisy extractor. I would stay again but not in room 9. Great coffee at breakfast.

    We booked here at very last minute as we had an issue with our booking in North Stafford. The staff were so friendly and helpful and allowed us to park our bikes right at the front of the hotel near the entrance. The room was large and comfortable, and there were tea and coffee making facilities and a nice bathroom. We would stay again if needing to stop in Stafford.

    The location was great for visiting Cannock Chase Forest. The hotel is located in beautiful surroundings with gorgeous views. Our room was clean and so was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast and dinner were AMAZING. The staff were very friendly and efficient.
