I lived in Petersfield for most of my life and come back...
I lived in Petersfield for most of my life and come back fairly regularly to visit family and friends. It’s a lovely market town and there is the Heath Lake which is very scenic. The shops have improved since I last visited and there are now some very good bars/restaurants. We ate mostly at Wetherspoon because we had to eat out a few times. I actually came to meet up with family. I fou nd the area well located for visits to other towns and villages. A charming village near the glorious South Downs. We had difficulty finding somewhere to eat on the Sunday night but Ruby and Monty was a little gem of a restaurant (Italian - pizza/pasta) that accommodated us at short notice - they served the best salads and bruschetta I have ever eaten!Guest review byHannahUnited Kingdom

The locals where very friendly and the staff looked like family owned was very welcoming and friendly every time The food was amazing!!!! We had a meat platter to share and being from south Africa the steak was cooked to perfection and the ribs where out of this world. The peace & quiet allows you to recharge. There is a wonderful walk (Hangers Way) taking you down through Ashford Hangers Nature reserve, through Steep, into Petersfield & then back.
