There was not very much we did not like about our stay, we asked to change rooms due to noise and without hesitation, we were upgraded and had a balcony sea view. The breakfasts were fresh and more than adequate. We had guests from outside the hotel join us for breakfast and they were well received. Our visits to the spa were timed to be at the quieter parts of the day and we always left feeling refreshed and energised.

The house had this very cosy atmosphere and it is well-located (in front of the sea and about 10 minutes walk to the town center). The staff was really nice. The rooms were quiet. I enjoyed the breakfast (you can either help yourself for fruits, yogourt and cereals or you can order from the menu). I'll go back there if I visit Falmouth again.

We just loved all of it.

We just loved all of it. The shops the pub had great food and very friendly the Boat House was excellent. The walks excellent. Parking waS fine, too. We are in our 70s so the steep hill to the beach could be challenging but it worked up a nice appetite at the boat house. Sunday lunch there was excellent. We will be back !

We visit Portscatho most years, usually staying in a nearby caravan site. It is very well situated on the coastal path and has all the local facilities one might want in a small village. A bus service puts St Mawes and Truro within easy reach.

This is one of our dog walk areas.

This is one of our dog walk areas. There are a couple of good pubs and eateries nearby including the famous Hidden hut above Porthcurnick Beach. The Roseland peninsular has many many gems , great coastal walks, St Just church, St Mawes, Carne Beach, Porthloe, Bakeries, farm shops etc etc and the King Harry Ferry

Driving through and parking in Portscatho can be difficult even off season. The streets are narrow and parking is very limited. There is a free carpark in Gerrans (10 min up hill). It is a very touristy town but still retains a lot of its old world charm. Lots of little, expensive shops, one pub, a few cafes and a convenience shop for necessities. The coast path runs right through Portscatho and there are some wonderful walks to be had. Also several beaches to be explored, usually at low tide only. Well worth a visit close by are St Mawes, Veryan, Melinsey Mill near Veryan, St Anthony Head and St Just in Roseland church, The Hut cafe is a short walk from Portscatho on the coast path.

Amazing location... just what you want in Cornwall... a place off the beaten track with a secluded beach (Porthcurnick) about 5 minutes walk away and a walk over the headland to a cute little village (Portscartho)... The hotel was picturesque and well appointed with lovely food and staff. I'd stay there again for the Cornwall experience in a heartbeat.
