What a beautiful, historic hotel and Pub. Our stay was only for one night, but we had an exceptional visit and the Hotel was very clean, our room was beautifully decorated the bed was so comfortable even with the Pub below us we heard nothing . You thought of everything from the tea kettle, teas, biscuits, breakfast in am which we sadly had to miss due to our early departure. The food in the pub was exceptional! Sophie the young lady who sang last night in the pub had such a soulful, beautiful voice she sounded just like Amy Winehouse. The Staff was so accommodating. We especially loved the dog friendly city and seeing the many dogs in the pub.. Which we were giving lots of belly rubs to many of them.. we just couldn’t resist. As we had left our three at home.. and miss them terribly. Your town is enchanting! With the beautiful cobblestone roads, historic buildings, old architecture. We came to see your Artist Mackenzie Thorpe whom I absolutely love and have several of his beautiful pieces of Art. The gallery was just beautiful and finally was able to personally meet Mackenzie and his lovely staff. Hubby loved your historic Military Museum and Castle. The lovely boutiques and other wonderful lil restaurants looked like wonderful places to try had our stay been longer we would have definitely tried. Beautiful city and beautiful people ❤️‼️

Everything. There is almost nothing not to like, from the welcome, off street parking, the wild flower bed, the communal room with log burner the kitchen, the sweet bedrooms with a very comfortable bed and wet room, not to mention dog walks nearby. The architectural blend of old and new was a delight with o many lovely features enahnced.

What a beautiful place. Spotlessly clean and it had everything we needed. The information pack was very helpful and Christine's messages from the time of booking were excellent. Thank you. The location suited our needs perfectly. A short walk from the town centre. Not too far. Ideal. We would highly recommend Dots Place and would stay here again without hesitation. Thank you for making our short break so pleasant and comfortable.

The people were very friendly. The range of shops, bars, restaurants was excellent. The station, castle, market square were all wonderful. Walk down to the falls. The bar 29 on Frenchgate is outstanding and Tara is just a superb host. Fiona in the Castle Tavern was lovely. The restaurant at the Fish and Chip shop upstairs was great .

This is a lovely and picturesque town in the incomparably lovely Yorkshire dales. There is a lovely market square with nice shops and restaurants, a fabulous Georgean theatre, a terrific castle to explore, and a nearby ruined abby that is an easy walk from the centre of town. (Every town needs a ruined abbey, right?)

Like every other town could do with a bit of a facelift and money into it. Not much to do but nice peaceful and could do with a good Chinese as our takeaway was awful!! Cobbles all over were awful and some areas cars were driving over loose rocks and god knows what damage to the undercarriage to their cars . Very long drive for only two nights don’t think we’ll ever be back

Richmond is a lovely small town on a hill.

Richmond is a lovely small town on a hill. There is a large cobbled market square. Quaint streets lead off from it. The indoor market has lots of good stalls. The castle is behind this and well worth a visit. The Georgian Theatre is well worth a visit. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants. The Railway Station has a cinema, a café, small shops and an exhibition area. There is a well marked circular walk of about three miles to Earby Abbey. Entrance is free. Earby Church , next to it, has a collection of amazing Medieval wall frescos. Paddling in the river at the bottom of Mill Road is popular. The town has steep roads. The parking can be a problem with generally limited times.

Compact Market town with a number of good shops and restaurants - we would recommend the Rustique on Chantry Wynd (just off the Marketplace). This is reached from an entrance to one side of the Post Office and creates a Parisian street scene with near authentic French cooking. The Castle is a must see albeit the climb to the top of the tower is a little daunting particularly the long staircase in the middle section of the Castle. Because of time constraints we did not visit Richmond Falls but if you have the time I believe it to be worthwhile.

The Superior Double room was fantastic, very clean and well furnished with a lovely view out onto the Market Place of Richmond. The Staff throughout were very friendly and accommodating, even when we were slightly late down for breakfast they treated us well and gave us an excellent friendly service and a lovely breakfast. The Hotel car parking to the rear of the Hotel was very convenient and I would recommend pre-booking a space if you are staying at a busy period.

The cottage is perfectly located for exploring Richmond on foot. It's a great gateway to driving out into the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The cottage is cosy and had all the amenities we required. It was nice to keep warm during the cold and damp nights. There was plenty of room and storage in the bedrooms. Water pressure was great. The beds were comfy and clean. It was a pleasure to wake up here.

Convenient in the middle of Richmond. There was parking on site. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing seemed any trouble. Room clean and tidy but looks tired. The hotel is very old which could make it difficult to modernise. The breakfast on the Saturday was tasty and they were able to substitute the bacon for vegetarian sausages on the eggs Benedict.
