Rottingdean is picturesque.

We personally like the history surrounding Rottingdean - there's so much for those interested. What a charming place to spend the day.
What a charming place to spend the day. We strolled around Kiplings Garden and got to go inside a windmill! Loved the exhibition at The Grange too. A good selection of traditional pubs with amazing gardens and one with a view of the duck pond on the green. Had a dip in the Art Deco Lido at Saltdean too. I grew up in Rottingdean although haven't returned for several decades. It is still a delightful village, especially around the green and pond. A lot less the victim of too much tourism which affects Brighton itself. Easy transport connections along the coast in both directions. The hotel is situated on the seafront within a stones throw of the walk along the prom. Parking on site was great. The room was lovely and a good size with views over the sea, super comfortable bed, quiet, and lovely deep bath in the bedroom! There is of course a separate shower and w.c.
