Lovely little community. Very dog friendly.

Lovely little community. Very dog friendly. Beautiful, clean, sandy beach. Augusto's Cafe served a great breakfast. Clipper ( sightseeing bus) passes through regularly. Horsey Gap only a short car drive away. Perfect place for seeing seals. Lots to see and do in the area.

The California Hills site was lovely.

The California Hills site was lovely. The beach was a reasonable distance from our site and looked really good. The bus service was excellent, just what you need to get you to Great Yarmouth for lunch and a few beers. Sadly only drove through Scratby so cannot remark on the town. All looks lovely though.

Beautiful area with nice and quiet beach around.

Beautiful area with nice and quiet beach around. Excellent place to watch sunrise and plenty of takeaways and supermarkets to get something to eat for the night. There seem to be local buses running to nearby towns but driving around is fairly easy. Great Yarmouth is also quiet near and could make an excellent detour.

The beach is amazing and not too busy.

The beach is amazing and not too busy. I loved the selection of pubs, take aways and shops, everything you need on your doorstep for a short stay. A lot of the hospitality is dog friendly which is great if you’re on holiday with your fur babies like we were. I liked the relaxed atmosphere, there were plenty of buses for people who want to experience the wider area. The California Tavern is very good for food and relaxing near the beach. Breakfast at the cafe/fish & chip shop was also very good. I loved it there and am considering buying a property because it is perfect for my needs.

We had a car and used Scratby as a base.

We had a car and used Scratby as a base. One day we went to the coast the next we went to The Norfolk Broads. Each place offered something different. There is a frequent bus service if you haven’t got a car. Local shops are within walking distance, bakery, ice cream shop. Chinese takeaway. There are 2 food places on site. We didn’t have any, but saw lots and it looked good. Burgers, pizza, breakfasts et .

If you are looking for a family location with a variety of family entertainments, this area is ideal. The beaches are long and flat with golden sands. The onsite swimming pool is fine as long as it does not get too crowded. There are takeaways and arcades close by. The walks along the beach are lovely too.
